授業の目的 【英語】

【Standardized across all programs】 The goal of this course is to promote understanding and mutual understanding of Japanese society and culture through discussions and collaborative work between international students and domestic students. We will reconsider the meaning of learning and living together with people from diverse cultures in Nagoya University and the region, and seek ways to coexist in multiculturalism.

Handouts and materials will be provided for each class.

Before and after class, you will need time to work on readings and reaction papers. During the course, you need to work on group projects with other classmates and you might need to meet or work online together outside of the class.

This class will be conducted in English. Since we will have diverse language and cultural backgrounds, we would like to create a learning environment in which members can support each other during group discussions and group work. Through group projects on Japanese society and culture, students with diverse backgrounds will have an opportunity to think about the meaning of people learning and living together and to explore ways of a multicultural coexistence society.
If you are interested in the following:
- intercultural communication and would explore "culture" and "multicultural coexistence society
- going abroad in the future
- reflect on your overseas experience/study abroad experience
- engage in global activities

この授業は英語で行いますが、クラスは多様な言語背景、文化背景のメンバーで構成されますので、グループディスカッションやグループワークの際には、メンバーで互いにサポートしあえるような学習環境を作っていきたいと思います。多様な背景を持つ学生の皆さんが、日本社会や日本文化に関するグループでの探究活動を通して、人々が共に学び生きることの意味を考え、多文化共生のあり方が模索できるようなきっかけを作ってきます。
多文化間コミュニケーションに興味があり、「文化」や「多文化共生」について探求したい方、海外に行きたい方、海外体験を振り返りたい方、国際的に活躍したい方など、ぜひ授業でお会いしましょう。
